Last updated: 13 May 2026 · Effective from: 13 May 2026

This privacy policy explains how WATA Enterprises Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects the personal data you provide when you visit wataenterprises.com, place an order, apply for a wholesale account, or contact us.

1. Who we are

WATA Enterprises Limited is a private limited company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 16509871), with its registered office at 275 Copster Hill Road, Oldham, North West, England, OL8 3DE, United Kingdom.

For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller of any personal information you provide to us.

2. What we collect

We collect only the information needed to fulfil orders, respond to enquiries and run our business:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number, postal address.
  • Order information — products ordered, prices, delivery preferences, order history.
  • Wholesale application data — company name, trading name, country, business type, brands of interest, your role.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type and operating system, captured by our server logs and used only for security and abuse prevention.
  • Cookies and local storage — see section 7 below.

We do not store payment card details on our own systems. Payments are processed by our regulated payment providers, who hold the card data under their own PCI-DSS certifications.

3. How we use your data

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To process and fulfil orders, including delivery, returns and warranty support.
  • To respond to your enquiries and provide customer service.
  • To review wholesale account applications and manage trade relationships.
  • To send order confirmations, dispatch notifications and (where you have opted in) occasional product news.
  • To detect, prevent and investigate fraud or abuse of our services.
  • To comply with our legal obligations under UK tax, accounting and consumer protection laws.

4. Lawful basis

We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR Article 6:

  • Contract — to perform a contract with you (e.g. fulfilling an order).
  • Legitimate interest — to run, secure and improve our business.
  • Legal obligation — to retain transaction records for tax and audit purposes.
  • Consent — where you opt in to marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.

5. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with carefully selected service providers acting on our instructions:

  • Payment processors — to take payment securely.
  • Couriers (Royal Mail, DPD, etc.) — to deliver your order. We share name, address and phone number only.
  • Hosting and email providers — who hold our data on our behalf under contract.
  • HMRC and other regulators — where required by law.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

6. International transfers

We aim to keep all data within the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where a service provider transfers data outside the UK/EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.

7. Cookies and local storage

This website uses minimal cookies and browser local storage:

  • Strictly necessary — to remember your shopping basket, signed-in account and age verification (no consent required under UK PECR).
  • No third-party tracking cookies are set by this site at launch.

You can clear stored data at any time via your browser settings.

8. How long we keep data

  • Order records: 6 years (to meet HMRC tax retention requirements).
  • Customer accounts: until you ask us to close the account, plus 12 months.
  • Wholesale applications: 24 months from submission, unless an account is approved (then for the duration of the trading relationship plus 6 years).
  • Contact form messages: 24 months.
  • Server logs: 30 days.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Have your data deleted (where there is no overriding legal obligation).
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
